Virginia Tech guard Erick Green has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year.
Green is the nation's leading scorer averaging 25.4 points per game.
Green said, "I have great teammates getting me open just being the best they can be and a great coaching staff to push me to where I am at today."
"I'm just happy for him. And for this program to have a player thats named the player of the year in the ACC Conference - that says a lot. It says where we are and where we're moving forward to with this program," said head coach James Johnson.
The Hokies are currently the worst team in the ACC but Green is the first player to win this accolade on a squad with a losing record.
Virginia Tech is the #12 seed in the ACC tournament and they will face #4 NC State in the first round.
The winner will take on Virginia.
