Monticello HS Dress Sale to Benefit School Organizations

Posted: Updated: March 11, 2013 07:26 PM EDT

Prom season is just around the corner and the Monticello High School Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) wants to make the season easier for girls searching for the perfect dress.

The MHS PTSO is collecting dresses for the 10th annual Cinderella's Closet dress sale. The organization is also in need of another dress rack. Anyone who wants to donate a rack or a dress can bring it to MHS.

The dresses that have already been donated range from cocktail to ball gowns, and even a wedding dress was thrown into the mix. Dresses are $25 for shoppers with a student ID from any school, and $35 for other community members.

MHS students say the sale helps girls look their best on a budget.

"There's some great prices and really pretty dresses too, so it's a good steal," said Morgan Jacobs, MHS student.

This year, organizers say they're hoping to set up a "man cave" during the sale, so dads and boyfriends have a couch to sit on and a television to watch while the girls search for the perfect dress.

Proceeds from Cinderella's Closet feed back into the MHS PTSO, the prom fund, and the Make a Difference fund, which helps students cover athletics fees and testing fees.

The sale runs Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MHS.
