#8 UVA Women's Lax Loses 4th In A Row Against Top Ten Foe

The #8 Virginia women's lacrosse team lost its fourth-straight game against a team ranked in the Top-10, as UVA fell 8-7 at #3 North Carolina.

With 26:23 remaining, Morgan Stephen's put the ball in the back of the net off a feed from Casey Bocklet to give Virginia their first lead of the game (6-5).

Three minutes later, the Tar Heels tied it up (6-6), but Bocklet put the 'Hoos back in front with a free position shot with 22:12 left in the game (7-6).

Carolina's Taylor George knotted the game at 7 at the 9:22 mark.

With 6:49 left - Kara Cannizzaro put away her fourth goal of the contest to give Carolina a 8-7 lead over the 'Hoos.

The 'Hoos had one final shot with 40 seconds remaining when Sally Jentis came up with a ground ball but UNC'S Sloane Serpe caused her to turn it back over and the 'Heels were on attack for the final 34 seconds of the game.

The Cavaliers fall to 4-2 overall and 0-2 in the ACC.

Bocklet led the Cavaliers with three goals and an assist.

Dana Boyle had a pair of goals.

Stephens had one goal, five draw controls, and a ground ball.

Courtney Swan had four draw controls.

Senior Goalie Kim Kolarik had four saves, all in the first period.

The 'Hoos return action Wednesday against William and Mary at Klockner Stadium at 7 o'clock.
