A man accused of setting a Charlottesville home on fire entered a guilty plea Friday in Charlottesville Circuit Court.
Chancey Ramsey pleaded guilty to arson.
In court, the prosecution said Ramsey had argued with his mother before starting the fire at their home along Monticello Road last August.
Fire investigators say they found clear evidence of accelerants, namely gasoline.
Upon entering the guilty plea, the defense said Ramsey regrets what happened and is sorry for starting the fire.
Ramsey is due back in court for sentencing May 7.
