Orange County, VA – Following a conference call this morning, utility companies throughout the County are reporting that their restoration efforts continue and that crews are working to bring power back to Orange County residents. Dominion Virginia Power is reporting that there are still an estimated 800 customers in Orange County without electricity and they are hopeful that the remaining individuals will have power restored by this evening. Rappahannock Electric Cooperative is reporting that while there are still approximately 3,400 customers without power at this time, their restoration efforts are expected to continue through Sunday evening.
For individuals still without power and in need of water, the following stations around the County will fill containers with water if citizens bring them in:
The local Food Lion stores are reporting that they have pallets of water available for purchase at this time as well.
Orange County will remain vigilant in its response and pass along information as it is received. As the weekend approaches, the County urges residents to call the non- emergency line for up-to-date information or with questions at (540) 672-1234.
