Assault Trial Date Set for Tow Truck Driver

Update: Joshua Johnson's case was finalized on April 8. The final disposition was guilty. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but that entire sentence was suspended. Johnson was ordered to pay a $200 fine.


A Charlottesville tow truck driver accused of assault will have his case go to trial.

Twenty-six-year-old Josh Johnson is facing a misdemeanor assault charge following an incident earlier this month.  

Police say Johnson, a tow truck driver for Collier's Towing, threw a punch through an open car window, hitting a man in the Red Roof Inn parking garage.  Read more about the case here.

In Charlottesville General District Court Friday, Judge Robert Downer set his trial date for April 8.
