A group of educators from half the world away are calling Charlottesville home this week.
Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, the group is working to improve secondary education in their region through a World Bank-funded initiative called the Lagos Eko Project.
The initiative comes to an end in December, and the group is turning to UVA's Darden School of Business for assistance and guidance as they work to convince their country to continue reforming education and encouraging engagement.
"Apart from the knowledge that we have gained inside Darden, we have also seen and observed very good practices, very good models of how schools can achieve," project coordinator Ronke Azeez said.
The group visited schools around Virginia to learn to new education strategies. They will return home this month with those new ideas, to help schools and students succeed.
