Local Emergency Declared in Greene County, Shelter Opens

GREENE COUNTY ACTIONS / Winter Storm Event  

The following information pertains to Greene County and measures that have been and/or will be taking place due to the impending weather forecast: 

• Local Emergency Declaration as of 12:00 p.m. on 03/06/13
• Emergency Operations Center activation as of 8:00 a.m. on 03/06/13
• County Office Building, Courts, and Schools all closed 03/06/13 

A shelter will be opening at the following location as of 1:00 p.m. on 03/06/13 

• Ruckersville Elementary School located at 105 Progress Place, Ruckersville, VA  22968 

Residents are instructed to bring food, medications, blankets, and pillows.  The location will not accept pets at this time.
