Hundreds of Charlottesville children learned the importance and fun of a healthy lifestyle Saturday.
The Kids in the Kitchen event gave them a chance to make their own healthy snacks, test out exercise techniques and learn about fire safety.
More than 20 organizations set up shop to help promote healthy habits and combat childhood obesity.
"This year we really incorporated the whole body into it, where we focus on lifestyle changes wellness, I mean there's a fire safety station here, things that you know, encompasses the body but it's also important for kids to learn about," said Angela Taylor, event chair.
The annual Kids in the Kitchen event is hosted by the Junior League of Charlottesville.
