Town Hall Meetings with Duane Snow Begin in Albemarle

Posted: Updated:

Albemarle County Supervisor Duane Snow kicked off a series of town hall meetings Saturday morning at Red Hill Elementary.

A handful of people turned out for the event - including school board members Eric Strucko and Ned Gallaway.

Conversation ranged from geo-policing to how federal sequestration cuts will affect Albemarle schools and the county as a whole.

"Right now we have a million set aside to deal specifically with sequestration and if everything comes together and we don't have to use that million dollars, than that million dollars will roll over into capital improvement funds," Snow said.

Snow represents the Samuel Miller District.

He will hold three more town hall meetings throughout the month of March. The next one is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Meriwhether Lewis Elementary.
