The investigation of December's Rio Mills Road standoff in Albemarle County is now complete.
On December 26, police responded to a call saying one man was standing over another with a gun. When police arrived, the suspect, Frank Davis Jr., pointed a rifle at a responding officer. One officer fired at Davis, who then retreated into a garage.
It turned into a standoff, which ended after attempts to make communication with those inside failed and a SWAT team stormed the garage to find two men, Davis and James "Sonny" Marshall, dead.
Albemarle County's commonwealth's attorney says no charges will be filed against the officer who fired at Davis.
