A Charlottesville man has been charged after his pickup truck collided with a moped carrying two people this morning. Zachary Grove, 21, is facing one count of disregarding a stop sign.
Police responded to the accident at the intersection of Bolling Avenue and Meridian Street shortly after 11 a.m.
The truck traveling north on Meridian Street failed to stop at the stop sign. The moped then crashed into the side of the truck.
The 44-year-old man driving the moped was not hurt. The 29-year-old female passenger of the truck was taken to UVA Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
A series of town hall-style meetings for Charlottesville's neighborhoods will continue on May 22 with a meeting for residents of the Martha Jefferson and Little High neighborhoods.
