Former Charlottesville restaurant owner James Baldi has been scheduled to face a judge and jury on an embezzlement charge.
The 49-year-old was back in Charlottesville Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Baldi had been missing from July 2010 until California police arrested him in January 2013. He was extradited to Virginia in early February. Baldi was indicted in April of 2011 while he was on the run from authorities.
The charge in Charlottesville stems from Baldi's dealings with Café Cubano on the downtown mall.
He also faces three embezzlement charges in Albemarle County. Police say he handled the tax books for three county businesses between 2008 and 2010.
His trial in Charlottesville is set for July 2 at 9:30 a.m. in Charlottesville Circuit Court.
