Friends and family are remembering a central Virginia bluegrass legend Tuesday.
Alvin Breeden of Earlysville passed away early Tuesday morning. Breeden, who was 70, is well known for his banjo skills and his band Alvin Breeden and the Virginia Cutups. Breeden also played with legend Bill Monroe.
His family says he would want to be remembered for his dedication to keeping traditional bluegrass music alive. Breeden performed for over half a century.
He is survived by two daughters.
