UVA Baseball Sweeps Toledo Series with 6-3 Win

The Virginia Baseball team improved to 7-0, as they topped Toledo 6-3 Sunday at Davenport Field to sweep the three game series.

The Cavaliers only had three hits, but six different players scored runs.

The 'Hoos combined for eight walks, with three of those base runners scoring.

UVA was leading 1-0 in the 5th, when Derek Fisher broke open the game with a 3-run home run.

Cavaliers relief pitcher Nathan Kirby worked 2 1/3 inning to snag his first college victory.

UVA starting pitcher Nick Howard pitched four scoreless innings and gave up four hits and a walk.

Virginia's starters have now pitched 29 1/3 consecutive scoreless inning without allowing a run in any of the Cavaliers five home games.

Virginia continues its homestand this week as they host George Washington at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
