Fluvanna Man Dies in Route 15 Crash

FLUVANNA MAN DIES IN SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH

FLUVANNA CO., Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Fluvanna County man Friday morning Feb. 22, 2013. Trooper J.R. Ruhlman is investigating the crash and responded to the scene at approximately 9:55 a.m. on Route 15 (James Madison Highway) just south of Route 250 in Fluvanna County.

A 2010 Chevy pick-up was traveling northbound on Route 15 when the truck ran off the road to the right. The vehicle then hit a tree head-on.

The driver, John B. Jerrell, Jr., 59, of Fluvanna County died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt. Neither speed or alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
