The Virginia women's lacrosse team improves to 2-0 as a second half burst helped them top the University of Richmond 13-7 at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium.

The Cavaliers trailed 7-6 at half - but the team went on a 7-0 run to clinch their second road win of the season.

Ashlee Warner had a hat trick and 2 assists while Casey Bocklet added 2 goals and 2 assists.

Head Coach Julie Myers said, "Ashlee and Casey together their stick work and game sense is amazing. If you shut one down I think the other person can pop free pretty well but clearly they enjoy playing together and I think their chemistry is only gonna get better every year."

"We just kind of work together it kind of makes it easier. Her feeding me with her left hand and then I can finish right and the opposite so it just really works out. We both can read each other and its really nice and exciting," said Bocklet.

Warner added, "Coach definitely put a unit together for behind but its really fun. We have a specific play for us too...most the time it works out and if not we'll find another way to score."

Virginia outshot U of R (32-22) and had more draw controls (14-8), but the Spiders bettered the 'Hoos in ground balls (20-18).

Virginia will hit the road again as they take on Syracuse Sunday at 1 p.m.
