Board Of Visitors Reforms Advance in Richmond

After last summer's leadership crisis at the University of Virginia, the Virginia General Assembly is making progress on university board governance reforms.

Delegate Steve Landes' bill, House Bill 1952, would require members of a university's board of visitors undergo training on topics including board governance and ethics. It would also require greater board transparency.

The bill passed the state Senate Wednesday, and will return to the House of Delegates for a final vote this week.
