Head-On Collision Kills One in Orange County

A Stanardsville man is dead after a head-on collision Wednesday morning in Orange County.

The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. on Route 33 just east of Buzzard Hollow Road.

Virginia State Police are still investigating, but say a Ford van crossed the center line and hit a Ford F-150 head-on. The driver of the van, 34-year-old Aaron Strickland of Stanardsville, died at the scene.

The driver of the F-150, 25-year-old Vincent Garrison of Ruckersville, was taken to University of Virginia Medical Center. His condition is unknown.
