Posted: Updated:

The vice chair of Albemarle's Democratic Party, Cynthia Neff, was back in court Tuesday. Neff was convicted of driving under the influence after her arrest in October.

The officer who pulled Neff over testified she failed the field sobriety tests and admitted she had a few glasses of wine at an art fundraiser that evening.

The judge suspended her license for one year. Neff will also have to pay a $350 fine and receive a breath alcohol ignition interlock device. A 30-day jail sentence was suspended.

Neff has 10 days to appeal.
