Pop-Up Noodle Bar Offers Authentic Japanese Ramen

Posted: Updated:

Charlottesville foodies can try real Japanese ramen at a pop-up noodle bar.

Sunday night, the Japanese restaurant Now and Zen on Second Street transformed into Second Street Noodle Bar. The restaurant is serving three kinds of ramen: shio, miso and tan tan. The chef, Toshi Sato, says this is not the kind of ramen you made in college.

"Most people have never tried ramen, real ramen noodles. They just do the instant ramen noodle. It's totally different. And people really like this – I hope," Sato said.

Anyone looking to try the chef's ramen should move quickly. At 10 p.m. Monday, the Second Street Noodle Bar returns to its normal state as Now and Zen.
