The William Monroe HS boys basketball team beat Clarke County 78-59 to win the Bull Run District tournament championship.  It was Monroe's 14th straight win.   Garry Morris had 35 points and Markell Williams had 27.

Morris said, "This is really exciting, its a dream come true. We did it with effort. Everyone worked hard, Coach Maynard's been keeping us in line. Everybody just believes."

Williams added, "it's a dream come true, just to have these fans here to watch it, its amazing."

The Western Albemarle HS boys basketball team beat Fluvanna 83-77 for the Jefferson District Tournament championship.  Chase Stokes had a game high 21 points for the Warriors.   Jeremy Baruch had 14 points.  Jake Maynard and Sam Chisolm each had 12 points.  Vinnie Agee had 30 points for the Flucos in the loss.  Jalen Harrison had 19 points.

Buckingham beat Bluestone 67-49 to win the James River District tournament championship.  Buckingham got a team high 17 points from Cam Johnson.  Johnson also had six assists and six rebounds.  Buckingham improves to 22-1 and will host Goochland Wednesday in the Region B Tournament.

The Stuarts Draft HS boys basketball team lost to Page County 90-82 in the Shenandoah District Tournament finals.

The Stuarts Draft HS girls basketball team beat 53-36 over Stonewall Jackson to win the Shenandoah District Tournament.  Mayzie Lewis had a game high 17 points.  The Cougars will host a Region B playoff game Tuesday.

The Monticello HS girls basketball team beat Powhatan 52-39 to win the Jefferson District Tournament championship.   Bridget Holleran had 16 points.  Cierra Hall and Molly Shephard each had 10 points. 

Shephard said, "There was a lot of dancing. A lot of passing the trophy around and looking at them. Kissing them. Screaming - we were on top of the world! Everyone was going crazy."

Monticello is the 2-seed for the regional playoffs and will host Kettle Run on Tuesday.
