Maya Langman Signs With Holy Cross Field Hockey

Western Albemarle senior Maya Langman signed her National Letter of Intent to play field hockey at Holy Cross Friday in Crozet.

Langman has been a star goalie for the Warriors the past three seasons.

Last year she was named first team All-Region, and second team All-State.

Langman says, "(Holy Cross coach Zowie Tucker) was really adamant in saying how hard you work, and how hard you're working at practice dictates your playing time. So it could range anywhere from not playing at all because I'm a freshman, to maybe getting to see some time on the field."

The WAHS senior says she'll fit right in at the Worcester, Massachusetts school.

"I loved it, because the people there are great," says Langman. "They're like a big family. They're really hard working people, and they're competitive, just like me. They're a bunch of quirky people, and I liked that."
