The intersection of Avon Street and Druid Avenue was closed following a vehicle crash early Friday afternoon.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling westbound on Druid Avenue approached the intersection at Avon Street when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign. The Jeep was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet van traveling northbound on Avon Street.
The Jeep flipped over on its top as a result. The five people in the Jeep - three adults and two children - were all treated at UVA and released with minor injuries.
The mother, a 22-year-old from Louisa, was driving at the time of the accident and was cited for failing to obey a traffic signal.
The driver of the van, a man from Richmond, was not injured in the accident.
Speeding was not a factor in the crash.
