Charlottesville Florist Prepares for Valentine's Day Rush

Posted: Updated:

Charlottesville sweethearts are rushing to send roses to their valentines. The team at University Florists is pruning and arranging bouquets for their busiest day of the year - Valentine's Day.

Coolers at the florist are packed with flowers ready for delivery on Thursday. A dozen red roses remains the most popular order.

University Florists expects to sell 10,000 roses for Valentine's Day and says it's still not too late to place an order for that special someone.

"Guys are last-minute, so they'll be here all day long tomorrow," said Rachel Jarrell, manager of University Florists.

If you still need to order flowers, University Florists opens at 8 a.m. in the Barracks Road Shopping Center on Thursday. Delivery drivers start even earlier.

University Florists typically delivers 50 orders daily, but will send out 1,000 orders on Valentine's Day.
