Young UVA Men's Lacrosse Team Steps Up Their Game for Drexel

Posted: Updated:

The Virginia men's lacrosse team plays its season opener Saturday as they host Drexel at 1 o'clock at Klockner Stadium.

The 'Hoos are ranked 9th in three of four major preseason polls.

Virginia returns five starters from last year's team that went to the NCAA quarterfinals.

Dom Starsia is beginning his 21st season as UVA's head coach.

Starsia said, "I expect us to play well right off the bat and do the things that we want to do. We're a program that graduates good players generally every year. I mean you don't graduate Steele Stanwick every year...but we've got the players that can step in."
