Posted: Updated:

Western Albemarle's Hayes Fountain signed his national letter of intent Tuesday to play soccer at the University of Virginia.

Fountain has played all over the field at Western Albemarle but will likely play left back or center back at UVA.

Fountain said, "I knew where I wanted to go from day one. I've watched the Virginia guys play at Klockner since I was eight or seven years old and I decided I wanted to go there and just kept working and trying to get there...There's nothing like the blue and orange for me."

He's contributed to a successful Warrior program that has won back-to-back Jefferson District titles.

At the age of 15 - his Virginia ODP team won the 2011 National Championship.

Hayes grew up playing for SOCA.
