UVA Wrestling Wins Big On Senior Day

The #11 Virginia wrestling team topped Old Dominion 27-6 Sunday at Memorial Gymnasium.

The match was the last at home for UVA this season, and the five Cavalier seniors were honored before the match.

The Wahoos won 8 of 10 individual matches against the Monarchs.

Sophomore Nick Sulzer won by major decision at 165 pounds, while senior Jedd Moore had a technical fall at 174 pounds.

Senior Matt Snyder moved into the Top 10 in career wins at Virginia with a 1-0 win at 125 pounds, and fellow senior Derek Valenti earned his 90th career win with a victory at 149 pounds.

Virginia will wrestle in the NWCA National Duals in Ithaca, NY, next weekend, before preparing for the ACC and NCAA Championships.
