#12 UVA Women's Tennis Falls To #16 Michigan

The 12th ranked Virginia women's tennis team lost 4-2 against #16 Michigan Saturday in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

The match didn't end until after midnight.

The Wolverines won two of three doubles matches to win the first point, and jumped out to a 2-0 lead by winning at #2 singles.

Freshman Stephanie Nauta got Virginia on the board at #3 singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win, and senior Erin Vierra knotted the match at 2-2 with a 7-5, 6-3 win at #6 singles.

Senior Hana Tomljanovic lost 6-2, 6-4 at #5 singles, and Sarah Lee defeated UVA freshman Maci Epstein 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 to clinch the match for the Wolverines.

Freshman Julia Elbaba was leading 4-3 in the third set at #1 singles when Michigan closed out the match.
