The Virginia men's basketball team will face a big challenge on the road Sunday, as the Cavaliers travel to face Maryland in College Park.
UVA has won five of its last six games, and has three-straight wins over the Terps, but Maryland will present a big challenge in the form of 7-foot-1 center Alex Len.
The sophomore from the Ukraine leads the Terrapins in both scoring and rebounding, and is predicted as a Top-Five NBA Draft pick.
With 6-foot-11 freshman center Mike Tobey out due to illness, UVA junior forward Akil Mitchell has to spend a lot of his time at the center position.
Despite giving up 5-inches and 20-pounds, Mitchell says he likes the match-up against Len.
"He's another seven-footer," says Mitchell. "He's talented, he's skilled, but it's nothing I haven't seen before. I'm looking forward to it. If I have to guard him, he's going to have to guard me on the opposite end, and I like that match-up all day."
Virginia and Maryland tip off Sunday at 1 pm in College Park.
