JMU Looking To Take Down #20 Delaware

Posted: Updated:

The James Madison women's basketball team will be looking for its 9th win in a row Sunday, when the Dukes host #20 Delaware.

The Blue Hens are led by senior forward Elena Della Donne and her 24.9 points per game.

Della Donne scored 23 points against JMU last season, and made 13-of-15 shots from the free throw line.

James Madison head coach Kenny Brooks says, "We're going to have to throw different looks at her, just to try to throw her off her game. We're not going to stop her, she's a tremendous player. We just have to make things difficult for her, and keep her off the free throw line."

Delaware has won 14 straight games, and are the defending CAA champions.

A win by JMU would move them into a tie for first place in the conference with the Blue Hens.

Delaware's last loss against a CAA opponent came in the 2011 conference championship game against James Madison.

Tip-off is Sunday 2 pm at the Convocation Center.
