For the second time in two years, disaster has struck a house in Augusta County. A fire broke out around midnight on Thursday, and gutted the home of Jerry and Faye Bosserman near Swoope.
The couple had already made major repairs to the house after a tornado damaged it in April 2011.
Jerry Bosserman was alone at the time of the fire. He heard a loud "pop", and went to investigate.
"Opened up the basement door and smoke just rolled out of it. So I called 911 and they responded within reason. By the time they got here, the kitchen and living room and dining room was full ablaze," said Jerry Bosserman.
The house on Ruger Lane is likely to be a total loss, but the Bossermans are surrounded by family members who can give them shelter.
No one is hurt in the fire, and the official cause has not been determined.
