The UVa men's basketball team blew out Clemson Thursday night 78-41 at John Paul Johns Arena. The 'Hoos held Clemson to just 10 points in the first half.   Virginia has won 13 straight games at home, the longest win streak in JPJA history.

Virginia built a 35-10 halftime lead.   The 10 points were the fewest allowed by the Cavaliers in a half since 1981.  The Cavaliers shot 56 percent from the field and held Clemson to 31 percent.

Joe Harris led the Cavaliers with 21 points.  Akil Mitchell added16 points and Justin Anderson had 14 points.  Virginia had 16 assists and only five turnovers while the Tigers struggled with 19 turnovers.

Coach Tony Bennett said, "We moved the ball, we really played well together, the ball moved, there were good cuts to the rim, obviously we shot it well and all that came together really nicely."

Freshman forward Justin Anderson said, "I'm all about the team, its all about the team. It was a great bounce back after losing to those guys, and they're a great team, not to take anything away from them, but I think we really came together and played well tonight. That was a great collective team win."

Junior forward Akil Mitchell said, "I think we saw that they were kind of getting frustrated and we smelled blood in the water, we kept attacking, shots kept falling for us.  The more we attacked the more shots kept falling and we just kept going from there."

Virginia improves to 6-3 in the ACC, 16-6 overall.  The Cavaliers have a quick turn around and will face Maryland Sunday at the Comcast Center at 1 p.m.
