Ronald McDonald House to Host 2nd Annual Pop Tab Contest
Feb 7, 2013 06:21 PM EST
The Ronald McDonald House is looking for some creative minds for its second annual Pop Tab Contest. The contest is open to people of all ages and only has one rule: the artwork must consist of at least 25 percent pop tabs.
The categories include adaptive art, sculpture and even wearable art. Last year the contest only had eight entries, but is looking to triple that number this year.
"This is the second year that we have done the Pop Art Contest, the original idea got started last year as a way to create a fun fundraiser out of an event that Ronald McDonald houses do all year round which is collect and recycle pop tabs and in exchange for the pop tabs, we get cash," said Candace Schoner, contest chair.
The deadline to enter is April 20 and entry costs vary by age. You can pick up your pop tabs starting Friday at both the Ronald McDonald House and McGuffey Art Center.
All proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
