Multi-Car Crash on Fifth Street Extended

At least one person went to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Fifth Street Extended in Albemarle County.

It happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday near the interchange with Interstate 64. Police say an SUV jumped the median and hit two cars waiting to turn on to the interstate on-ramp.

There is no word about how many people were hurt but none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
