Pedestrian Struck by Car on McIntire Road

Police are trying to figure out what led to a pedestrian being hit by a car on McIntire Road in Charlottesville.

The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. Police say a female pedestrian wearing dark clothes stepped in the path of a car traveling south on McIntire Road near the ball field.

The pedestrian was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no word about potential charges.
