Woman Assaulted, Robbed on Charlottesville’s Greenbelt Trail
Update: According to the Charlottesville Police Department, a person of interest was located Thursday with the assistance of the community. They are currently continuing they're investigation.
Charlottesville police are looking for information tied to an assault and robbery in the city on Tuesday night.
At about 6 p.m. on the Greenbelt Trail between Free Bridge and Caroline Avenue, a woman was attacked by a man pushing a grocery cart. The woman was knocked unconscious and some of her cash was taken.

On Tuesday February 5th 2013 at approx. 5:55 pm on the Greenbelt Trail, ( Between Free Bridge and Caroline Ave ).
A non- city resident was seated on a park bench. The female victim was attacked by a male, rendering the victim unconscious. The suspect is described as a B/M, 5'10, 130-150 lbs approximately 30 years of age, pushing a grocery cart with a yellow pad in the upper portion of the cart. The victim regained consciousness and drove herself to the hospital. The victim was treated and released. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was taken.
