RICHMOND, VA. (AP) - Virginia's spring fire season starts next week.
The fire season begins Feb. 15 and runs through April 30.
During fire season, it's illegal to burn trash or debris outdoors before 4 p.m. Violators of the ban could be fined up to $500. If an illegal fire escapes, a violator is financially liable for the cost of fighting the blaze and any property damage it causes.
