A jury will have the final say on the fate of a dog owned by a Waynesboro city councilman.
A district court judge ruled last summer that Frank Lucente owned a dangerous animal. Lucente appealed the ruling, and Tuesday the court scheduled a jury trial for May 9.
His 7-year-old golden retriever, Luke, bit a man who was walking in the street past the councilman's house.
A "dangerous" designation means the dog must be part of an online registry, and must be muzzled when he's away from home.
