House Passes Community College Mental Health Legislation

A bill to strengthen mental health referral policies on community college campuses passed the Virginia House of Delegates Monday with unanimous support.

The bill was drafted partially in response to recent shooting tragedies.

House Bill 2322 requires at least one person at each community college serve as the school's liaison to community service boards or mental health service providers. That person would then help refer students with urgent mental health needs to professional care.
