Students at Prospect Heights Middle School in Orange County are asking for help.
The band students set up inside the school Saturday for their first used-instrument drop off.
They want the community to donate used band instruments for a silent auction. The money raised will help pay for new instruments, allowing kids who cannot afford them to borrow from the school.
"Our band director Mr. C., he needs more instruments because he lends them to kids for free," said Molly Stewart, a member of the band.
The group will set up again next Saturday from noon until five at Prospect Heights Middle School. They are accepting instruments and band accessories like music stands.
