Senior Devon Moore scored a career-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough, as the James Madison men's basketball team lost 74-63 against George Mason Saturday at the Convocation Center.
The defeat ends a four-game winning streak for the Dukes (13-11, 7-4 CAA).
After freshman Andre Nation cut the JMU deficit to one point at 62-61 with 4:19 to play, the Patriots (13-9, 6-4 CAA) scored 10 of the final 11 points in the game.
GMU jumped out to an 11-0 lead to open the contest, and never trailed.
Sherrod Wright (22) and Jonathan Arledge (19) led the scoring for George Mason.
Moore connected on 7-of-13 shots from the field for JMU, including two three-pointers.
The senior point guard also dished out 5 assists and pulled down four rebounds.
Senior Rayshawn Goins added 13 points and 9 rebounds.
JMU will continue conference play Wednesday, as they host William & Mary at 7 pm.
