There were a lot of young hockey players on the ice at the Main Street Arena Saturday, as boys and girls were competing at the Charlottesville Ice Hockey Day.
The games were put on by the Blue Ridge Ice Hockey Association, which fields youth teams in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League.
There were eight teams from all over the Commonwealth in action.
The players took part in the fun from 1 pm until about 8:30, with activities, music, food, and drinks accompanying the games.
Kids 18 & under were able to skate alongside the players from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
