Hundreds of people lined up early Saturday morning for a community-wide yard sale in Staunton.
More than 30 vendors bought space at Ellen's Gypsy Yard Sale to sell their goods. Items including clothes, DVDs and dolls filled the Gypsy Hill Park gym.
The sale honors Ellen Bradley, a former Staunton Parks and Rec employee. Her favorite hobby was yard sales.
"Everyone that speaks of her speaks really highly of her and she was just a joy and everyone talks about her smile lit up Parks and Rec, so this is kind of what we do in her memory but it's also a way for folks to reuse and recycle items that they don't want anymore that other folks might want," said Claire Richardson, the community recreation specialist.
Organizers say the event sells out every year. Most of the proceeds from vendor payments will go towards setting up a youth scholarship.
