Police Arrest Man on Recent Impersonation and Breaking into Homes
February 1, 2013 On Thursday, January 17, the Harrisonburg Police Department arrested a male for recently breaking into homes and impersonating a police officer. The reported incidents occurred between January 11 and January 14.
Officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department began receiving complaints of a male who was entering residences and on January 11 impersonated himself as a police officer. Similar types of incidents continued to occur through the early- morning hours of January 14.
On January 17, Charles E. Whitney, 44, of Harrisonburg was charged with the following:
1. One misdemeanor count of impersonating a police officer (VA Code Section 18.2-174. 2. Five felony counts of breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny (VA Code Section 18.2-91.
