Fatal Crash in Lyndhurst Involving Moped a Hit and Run

Virginia State Police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run accident that killed an Augusta County man. 

Investigators day Keith Evans Cox, 47,  was riding a moped on Mount Torrey Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday. The Stuarts Draft man was fatally struck by a car that kept on driving. 

With help from the nearby Wilson Fire Department, police tracked down the driver. Robert wilkinson, 53, of Lyndhurst faces a charge of felony hit-and-run.

ORIGINAL:  Police are investigating a fatal crash in Augusta County near Lyndhurst.

Police say 47-year-old Keith Evans Cox was driving a moped when he was hit by a car and killed.

The crash happened Tuesday around 8 p.m. on Mt. Torrey Road, not far from the Shenandoah Valley Animal Shelter.

The car drove off and still hasn't been found.

There was a witness who wasn't able to give a good description of the car but police do have pieces of the car that were left at the scene.
