Staunton Man Arrested for Unlawful Wounding

The Waynesboro Police Department arrested a Staunton man for a felonious assault after a Monday night alcohol-fueled brawl. Police officers arrested Jeffrey Lynn Shiflett, 55, for unlawful wounding.

On January 28, 2013 at 7:45 p.m., officers responded for a disturbance call to an apartment in the 200 block of N Charlotte Ave. There they found the victim, a 26-year-old Waynesboro man, suffering from an inch long laceration below his left eye.

The victim claimed that Shiflett struck him which knocked him to the floor. Shiflett then kicked the victim and hit him with a chair. The victim was treated by the Waynesboro First Aid Crew.

Shiflett is being held in Middle River Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
