The Virginia women's basketball team improves to 14-6 overall and 6-3 in the ACC after outlasting Wake Forest 69-64 Sunday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The 'Hoos led by as many as 19 points in the 2nd half, but Wake's high pressure defense and three-point shooting cut the deficit to just five with 34 seconds remaining.

The Cavalier's prevailed thanks to hitting late free throws and snagging an offensive rebound in the final six seconds of the match-up.

Ataira Franklin scored a season high 23 points for the 'Hoos, and shot 50% from the field (7-of-14).

Franklin went 7-of-8 from the free throw line, and hit a pair of critical free throws in the final 30 seconds of the game.

Franklin, China Crosby and Kelsey Wolfe all finished the game in double figures.

Crosby had 11 points, while Wolfe tacked on 13 points, going 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.

Virginia stands alone in fifth place in the ACC, and will return to action Sunday, February 3rd, as they host Georgia State at 1 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
