Dragas Confirmation Sent to Full House

Rector Helen Dragas is just one step away from keeping her seat on the University of Virginia Board of Visitors.

The House of Delegates Privileges & Elections Committee voted Friday to support her reappointment by Governor Bob McDonnell. Despite protest from a handful of committee members, including 25th District Del. Steve Landes, a voice vote sent her confirmation on to the full House.

Dragas could be officially confirmed by lawmakers as early as next week.
