Man Faces 54 Sex Charges in Multiple Jurisdictions

A man is facing 54 sex crime charges following a three-month investigation Nelson County.

James Jessup, 38, was already in jail on separate charges when he was served with the new warrants.

Investigators say the case involves three juvenile victims. Twenty of the charges come from Nelson County and 34 from Appomattox. They include rape, sodomy and indecent liberties with a minor.

He's being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
